This pretty house built in 1980 with a four-sided roof was completely renovated in 2014 by its current owners. It is located in a small hamlet with nature on its doorstep, set back from a small road with no traffic, just a few minutes from the tourist town of Treignac in the Limousin county of Corrèze. Thanks to its location, it would be perfect as a second home, to be able to enjoy holidays away from the growing chaos of overcrowded cities, or as a main house for one or two people wishing to live in the middle of unspoiled nature.
Classic and chic interior The house, which has a good structure and roof, has had its interior completely redesigned and decorated in a classic and chic style. You enter the house through a sheltered entrance to the ca. 380 ft² living room fitted with a wood burner and two large French doors opening out to the front terrace. A doorless opening gets you directly into the fitted kitchen (86 ft²). To the left of the living room, two bedrooms just under 107ft² each with large bespoke floor to ceiling wardrobes and, in between the kitchen and the second bedroom, there’s a 60 ft² fully tiled family bathroom with a toilet and a large walk-in shower, modern towel rail and bathroom vanity unit.
On the right-hand side of the kitchen, a door opens onto the former 160 ft² garage, just down a few steps. Its floor has been completely re-laid with laminate flooring and it is no longer used for parking vehicles, but a storeroom. Here it would be easy to add a room to the existing layout, such as a guest bedroom with a private bathroom for instance. You could replace the existing garage door with a sliding glass door and install Velux windows so as to let the sunlight in.
The attic is ca. 430 ft², over a concrete floor and is also convertible, but this will require creating an access staircase from the garage. The house is connected to a septic tank installed in 2014.
A well maintained and oriented garden When you arrive at the property, you are immediately struck by the quality of its grounds. Its land is fully fenced in and planted with hedges all around. You can either drive in and park your vehicle (s) through the double gate on the grassy driveway that leads to the house or you can have private parking on a driveway that is over 200 feet long by 16 feet wide! The area is also fenced in. The garden in front of the house, on the north side, is dotted with small pergolas so that you can sip your aperitifs in a shady spot. There is a ca. 320ft² paved terrace right in front of the dining room.
Most of the land is south facing behind the house. There is a 240 ft² steel garage with a concrete floor, spacious enough for two cars. Attached to the garage, a woodshed, and a teak terrace with an outdoor spa. And then a new 26x13 ft above-ground swimming pool with an outdoor shower right next to it! One cannot wait for summer...
In one of the rear corners of the land, a large 2200 ft² vegetable garden with a 200 ft² greenhouse for the gardeners at heart!
Close to Treignac The property has pastures on three sides and you can enjoy gorgeous views over the surrounding rolling countryside. There is only one closer neighbour and he is across the road about 50 yards away. Treignac, with its restaurants, shops and all its amenities, its lake Lac de Bariouses, is 10 minutes from the house. The towns of Brive-la-Gaillarde and Limoges are an hour's drive away.
