At the top of the rolling Limousin countryside, you can enjoy 360-degree views from your domain. A gravel path leads to the domain with its house, gîte and barn, with no neighbours, just the view. Around you are meadows, you will not easily find the tranquillity you experience here.
Outdoor life Once on site, you will be amazed by the buildings and the atmosphere. The old functions can still be recognised on the buildings, but with a modern luxury "touch". For example, a large wooden terrace has been created between the buildings, with a counter-current pool and a jacuzzi. The old bread oven has been restored and can be used for pizza nights and outdoor cooking. You can enjoy this place all day long; lying in the sun, swimming in the pool (with countercurrent) or relaxing in the heated jacuzzi... But you don't have to sit still, there is also an orchard and grass to maintain. The main house The house has been very thoughtfully renovated while retaining a lot of atmosphere. Much attention has been paid to good insulation and heating. The roofs are new and, in the living area, have 25 cm of wood-wool insulation. The interior walls are insulated with cork. There is an ingenious central pellet stove heating system with cast-iron radiators. The house is also connected to its own water source, but can be switched to municipal water if you wish.
The living area comprises an entrance hall with storage room, toilet and utility room with technical room and entrance to the big barn. The attractive bright living kitchen features a large stone fireplace and large sliding doors to the front (north) wooden terrace and a door to a rear (south) terrace. The modern kitchen fits in well with the atmosphere and is equipped with all luxuries, such as a built-in coffee maker, oven, steam oven, microwave, induction hob and dishwasher all from the Gagenauen brand as well as a quooker and a built-in fridge and freezer. The old wooden staircase leads to the first floor where there are two bedrooms, an attractive bathroom and a large living room with wood-burning stove. This room of about 40 m2 is in use as a living room, but could also have another function. The bathroom has a shower, washbasin and a toilet.6-person gîte One of the barns has been converted into a very attractive gîte. By using old building materials and preserving the stone walls, a very stylish space has been created. You enter the high space through the old double doors. On the ground floor is the modern chic bathroom with its walk-in shower and washbasins and separate toilet. From the living area, the 1st bedroom is accessible. From the living space with its open kitchen you have direct access to the terrace, but through the large double doors also direct views of the surrounding hilly landscape. The brocante atmosphere will make the stay an unforgettable experience for your guests. Upstairs are two more bedrooms.Surroundings For shopping, you have to go to Chateauneuf la Foret, which can be reached within 10 minutes. This is a larger village with all amenities. Chateauneuf la Foret has a large supermarket, a bakery, a restaurant, a pharmacy, a bar tabac as well as a cinema and tennis courts. In the village is also a secondary school. The village regularly organises vide-greniers, markets or other festivities. There is also a lake with a beach and several playgrounds around it. The lake is widely used by swimming enthusiasts and fishermen. The lake has a cordoned-off area for children, which is guarded by lifeguards in summer. But hikers can also enjoy a walk around the lake.
