This neat house is tucked away at the end of a road with a dead end. The house is situated at the edge of the forest and at the back of the house there is a footpath that leads directly to Lac de Vassiviere, which is a tourist attraction fort his region. In the holidays it is pleasantly busy in the surrounding villages.
Ground floor On the ground floor there is a living/dining room with sliding doors. The high ceiling makes it feel very spacious. Here is also built-in wood stove with ventilation shafts. Everywhere there are aluminium window frames (double glazed).
Through a step you come into the open kitchen. This is in L shape and there is room for a table. Also here there is a lot of natural light which creates a good atmosphere. From the kitchen window you have a beautiful view.
On this floor there are 2 bedrooms of which one has a built-in wardrobe. The other has an entrance that leads to the mezzanine. This mezzanine is currently a play area for the children but could also serve as a study. Or as a sleeping place for guests. In the middle of the house is the bathroom with washbasin, shower and bidet. There is a separate room for the toilet.
Basement/Garage The whole house is built on a basement. The car can always be parked out of the sun under the house. In addition, there is more than enough space for wood storage, tools and possibly a wine cellar. There is a utility space with a sink, washing machine and water heater. The gas tank for the kitchen can also be found here. Also for keeping drinks, vegetables and fruit cool, it is a practical space.
Garden The garden is a little bit under slope and this ensures that there are views. There are also several places in the garden o create a nice terrace. The veranda, next to the sliding door is covered. This is a real addition to the living space. Furthermore, the garden is well maintained. Because the back of the house against the forest is a nice extension of the garden.
Location The house is located near Beaumont du Lac, in a small hamlet a short distance from the large Lac de Vassiviere. The nickname of the lake is "Little Canada" because of the many pine trees in the immediate vicinity. The lake covers 9.76 km2 and is 32 metres deep at its deepest point. You can fish to your heart's content. And in summer, besides sunbathing and swimming, you can also go canoeing, water skiing, sailing, surfing or boating. There is also a climbing park to discover nearby. In the high season there is a large flea market where all the locals come to get a bargain. A walk around the lake is 26 kilometres long.
Eymoutiers is a 10-minute drive away. Here are bakeries, supermarkets and every Saturday there is a market. At a similar distance lies the smaller Peyrat le Chateau.
