On the former railway line, this furnished railway cottage is just minutes away from the atmospheric town of Ussel. The track is now overgrown by bushes, but the crossing from the road D 159 is still intact. The path leads to some (newly built) houses. But when you cross the railway you rather have the idea that you are in the forest, with all the trees surrounding the house.
The cottage
The house has a cosy living room with wood-burning stove and an open kitchen in the annex. You can immediately taste the atmosphere of the old days. On the first floor is a spacious bedroom and a bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. A staircase leads to the attic for guests or children.
Directly behind the house is a small gravel terrace and a shed for garden equipment. Stone stairs lead to the higher part of the garden where you can enjoy the sun or shade. The old laundry is an atmospheric part of the garden.
Location
The town of Ussel is about 4 kilometers away. Ussel has an old town centre with several restaurants and shops. In addition, there are several large supermarkets, an municipal indoor swimming pool, a hospital and all facilities that belong to such a town.
