This village house has been very well renovated and has a lot of charm with its high stature, freshly joined walls, pretty brick window frames, exposed beams and stone. It is situated just over 5 minutes from the village of Châteauneuf-la-Forêt and Limoges is easily accessible in 30 minutes maximum.
CharmUpon entering the living room, one immediately notices the beautifully joined wall with fireplace, in which a wood-burning stove has been placed. A niche, white painted ceiling beams and a double door leading to the terrace give atmosphere to the sitting area. On the other side, the kitchen (17.6 m²): again joined walls and a fireplace with wood-burning stove. The ceiling is painted white. The kitchen, equipped with upper and lower cabinets, is neutral and equipped with various appliances. There is enough room for a large dining table to enjoy good family meals. From the kitchen you also have direct access to the terrace.
The open staircase to the first floor is located in the living room. Upstairs are two good bedrooms of respectively 14.6 and 9 m². One of the bedrooms has a built-in closet. The bathroom is modern. Small, but equipped with a shower cabin, washbasin, toilet and towel radiator.
From the shower there is a hatch to the attic. This is not insulated and is of limited use. Under the kitchen there is a cellar, accessible from a hatch in the living room.
The village garden From the living room there are patio doors to the rear terrace. A sheltered place to enjoy lunch, BBQ or to read a book. The front of the garden is bordered by a low wall, on the other sides by the surrounding side and back facades of houses and barns. In the garden, however, you do not have a view. It is now only a lawn, but with a few (flowering) shrubs you have turned it into a pleasant garden. Next to the house an extension with a new roof for the storage of garden furniture and tools. In front of the house there is a small place to park your car. The house is situated in a quiet street.
No maintenance, enjoy immediately! The house has been completely renovated a few years ago. There are wood stoves and electric radiators installed, the electricity has been renewed, windows replaced, plumbing, a new kitchen and bathroom, the inside and outside walls rejoined.... The roof has not been insulated or tackled and dates from the construction period : the slate hooks (and slates) do have to be checked annually to be sure there’s no damps problems. The house is connected to the municipal sewer. Only the garden can still use a few green fingers.
In short, a house to immediately enjoy French way of life! Will we meet you soon at the viewing?
